The PREVENT Strategy:

• Responds to the ideological challenge of terrorism and extremism and the threat from those who promote it.
• Aims to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism and ensures that those at risk are given appropriate advice and support.
• Works with a range of sectors, including schools and Colleges where there are risks of extremism and radicalisation.
• Covers all forms of terrorism, including far right extremism and some aspects of non-violent extremism.

In Staffordshire we follow the Notice, Check, Share model.

Notice – Check – Share is a three step process that helps people be actively involved in challenging extremism and terrorist behaviour.  The process is:-

– Notice the signs
– Check with someone that you can trust
– Share with someone who will be able to help the person
